- build mathematical understanding & accurately assess learning for a range of learners
Foundations of Math is a research-based training course for all educators of K-12 students who struggle with mathematics, including and especially those with Individualized Educaiton Plans (IEP). This course is designed to develop educators' knowledge of the mathematics they teach by seeing it through the lens of a well-delineated number sense.
Dr. Cain will present a way of understanding and teaching mathematics to struggling students - from building the understanding of number to developing understanding of function - that will challenge and enhance teachers' current thinking about mathematics education.
