Young Jim Hawkins’ quest begins when dying pirate Captain Flint leaves a treasure map at the coastal inn run by Jim’s poor mother. Jim shows the map to the local doctor and squire, who arrange a voyage to find the treasure. On board their ship is smooth-talking Long John Silver, a peg-legged pirate who recruits other pirates into the crew to seize the ship and kill Jim and his friends as soon as the treasure is found. On the island, the pirates battle Jim’s handful of honest men for control of the ship and Jim’s heroics and his discovery of a castaway, Ben Gunn, eventually turn the evil tide in this tale of high adventure.
